Engines with numbers starting with "P6" were 201 cu.in. and originally installed in 1938 Plymouths.

It looks like p5 or p6 and a very faint 3 number looks like but on other side of block it says a big P-1 and then on gear box I found this looks like it says tester

The faint "P" that appears on the side of the block where a serial number is usually stamped could indicate that the engine is a Plymouth engine, however, the "P" would/should be followed by one or two numbers for the model year, P8 '1939, then six or more numbers for the serial number identifying the plant, etc., where it was made.
The front wheel shown in the picture would indicate that it is a mid thirties or later chassis of doubtful parentage. Wm.

On the side of the block under the distributor area. I often find 2 digit year of manufacture for the engine. Look for 38, 40, 45 or some other number indicating the year of engine.
The engine goes appear to be later than early 30's. Is that the letter "P" I see just before the SN? Indicating a Plymouth block maybe.

The truck looks to me like a 'Johnny Cash, one part at a time' creation on a 1.5 ton chassis. With the Chrysler built engine the chassis is most likely from a 1930's Dodge truck. wm.

From the photo, that sure looks like a Chrysler Corp. engine, probably a 23" long block as used in Plymouth and US built Dodge cars. There is a flat boss on the block above the generator, visible in your engine photo, that should be stamped with an engine number. That should identify what the engine was originally built for. If you post that engine number here we can probably tell you what it is from.
