Not so much bugs as our host (Godaddy) decided a week ago that they needed to move us to a new server. That would be fine for most things but SMF (the app that runs this bulletin board) uses absolute links for everything - when you change servers those links no longer function. The problem with attachments - they are stored in a very strange way - not just jpg files or whatever - they are a long string of numbers - with a shorter number in front, if you have ever downloaded photos from someplace like Facebook - you will notice that they file name is a very long number - that is how this app stores them. This app also compresses them even more and drops the extension (.jpg or .png etc) from the file and the database associated with the board keeps track of what the correct extension is.

Anyway - they are back except for the very old images - they seem to be gone - they might have been lost - I do have a backup that I found of images from back to 2001 when I took over the webmaster duties - trouble is - the are named with common names not the new long number things.

Nice cars every one! We'll see if traffic picks up here when they get the club website updated.

I don't check in very often, maybe because there isn't a lot of traffic here and I'm more into the 60's era cars.   What brought me here today was to see if there was any info for this year's Grand National meet.   Which there was so now I can register!  Here is my current fleet!

Possibly 4 times a month, depends what I am at, spend an awful amount of time restoring my Plymouth's, short on money but with plenty of time. Usually spend 4/5 days a week working on one of three, my aim this year is to get two on the road, the PD R/S Coupe hasn't been driven pre 1970 when it was found in South Africa by a vintage car enthusiast.

We then have the PE Pick-up, the club has known of it since 1986, Jim Benjaminson even wrote an Allpar article on it.

Last is my latest purchase something I had been looking for over a two year period and when it came twas only 70 miles down the road.

Hi, just checking in!  ;)

Nice coupe Doran!
Interesting that this thread has been viewed 124 times with 12 or so folks contributing to it. Have we have all checked back on it 10 times each?

I have looked back at the members list and activity on the site. It had a good run 5 to 10 years ago. I think the admins would like to direct questions back to this venue but it seems FB is more convenient because they are already there and get notifications of postings there.

I've always liked this forum.  I used it a lot more when my restoration was underway, but that's been a few years. Back then, 2003-2008, there was much help available here. I just recently became a member of face book.  It seems like that option has taken most of the traffic away from this one.  Now, I probably check this discussion board once or twice a month.  I appreciate the job Mark does, which allows us to still have this resource.

Only three days left and I keep checking the driveway, I hope someone comes through for me. https://evansville.craigslist.org/cto/d/1935-plymouth-pj-4-door/6405535837.html Maybe this I promise to be a good boy for a whole year.

I am already spending more time here than in the past because I want see the site take off again with posts and questions and viewers. But in the meantime I think of it as my inner sanctum where I can think out loud and once in awhile someone will overhear me and offer a comment, an answer or encouragement

I probably check in once a week, but far more often when I am working on the car.  I search for posts on whatever I am doing, and find it enormously helpful.  Sometimes I just browse posts to learn something new.  Better for research than the FB page.

I try to check every few days, but rarely post. Here's a pic of the 39 (aka the Beast) before a Gran Marquis took out the front fender.

As administrator, I check every day. Would like to see more postings but not my job to post.

Mark

Mark, you have members like Tod, Go, Bill Davis and myself not to mention others that do our best to post

When my son bought his 1951 Chevrolet in 1999 after sitting in a cow pasture for 20 some odd years, we joined VCCA and also their forum, but he sold the car and got married five or six years ago, that was a good forum also for Chevrolets

RC, I belong to another forum for my 1954 chevy truck. You might lurk there to see how it is formatted. It is called the Stovebolt page. You can lurk but not post and one page called the Greasy Spoon is not visible to none members. It is like FB and has been around for a lot longer and at no charge or advertising except on certain pages. No dues but people do contribute as they see fit. My sign on is WE b OLD.  I have not been on there much lately I have been concentrating more on acquiring a Plymouth lately.

Good luck in finding your dream car, Fb is enjoyable for sure, but thank you for stopping here and using this forum, all visits are welcome and sometimes I think the FB page has done more damage than good to this forum, but that  is my opinion.  Everyone wants instant gratification these days

Most of my activity is on FB. This has been helpful but I get more response from FB. I am still searching for a car.

I check weekly. I don't have a picture to post. I own a 55 Plymouth Belvedere since 1978. She may not be perfect, but she turns heads when I drive it.

I guess I hadn't been in for a month or so. There was a previous roll call but it was at least a year old.
I had first come here over a year ago with great expectations of vast libraries of all Plymouth knowledge....
I do the FB page because of the higher traffic with lots of knowledgeable folks who can and will help out with general questions fairly quickly. It was there that I made a friend of a guy who has extensive knowledge of the 36's. I have learned more specifics from him in the last few months than in 2 1/2 years of club membership and gleaning form the net.
I have seen Bobs encouragements  and Tods knowledgeable posts and appreciate all.
As far as FB vs POC site goes it will remain so until something here becomes a bigger attraction.

36,
I like your car.  Bob had started this very topic several years ago and I think it had
gotten up to 7 or 8 pages long, but got wiped for some reason (not just that post but
several years worth of posts).  Anyway, here you go ....

I'm here almost everyday.  I seldom go two or more days without checking in.

I'm not a Facebook user, and understand that FB is taking over this forum.  I personally would like to see the FB page go away and members using this forum again.  But oh well, technology weeds out the weak...

I usually check this site daily. Not much of a chatter box, so I usually only post/respond if there is a question asked that I might be able to help on. Should be a photo of my car under my name on the left.

Who all still visits these pages? Put up a picture of your Plymouth.
